Practical relevance

Many students earn credit and valuable work experience through our Field Placement Program.

Students may work at externships throughout the year at the many government agencies, nonprofit instituions, and law firms that surround our campus.

In addition, a dedicated career counselor for LL.M. students assists students in planning for employement during the academic year and after completion of their LL.M.

Student profile

GW Law’s LL.M. class includes recent law school graduates, military judge advocates, solo practitioners, law clerks, human rights activists, prosecutors, corporate counsel, judges, and government officials, as well as Fulbright scholars.
Our U.S. and international LL.M. students take their courses together. Our classes, therefore, provide fertile ground for insightful conversation from a global perspective.
