Housing

Housing within the on-campus apartments is available to enrolled students and their families. If you wish to live on campus, please visit the On-Campus Housing website. On campus housing is a popular option among students. For this reason, it is very important that you file your housing application by the specified dates in order to ensure a place for you and your family. Campus housing might not be available during the Summer months. Please note that for a healthier community and cleaner environment, UC Davis became smoke and tobacco free effective January 2, 2014. Smoking is not allowed in campus buildings, which includes housing rental units and parking lots.

Many students enrolled at UC Davis live outside of university housing. For general information about costs and accommodation options, please contact the LL.M. Admissions Office.

Student life at UC Davis is full of endless possibilities.

Students enjoy a wide variety of activities, from hanging out with friends at an outdoor café to joining other UC Davis students for campus lectures or recreational activities. They can work out at the state-of-the-art fitness center at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC), create works of art at the Craft Center, and join the Experimental College and other organizations for a diverse range of activities. On campus and in town, students enjoy rock-climbing, dancing, bicycling, golf, tennis, racquetball, jogging, hiking, swimming at the campus pool, aerobics classes, weight training, martial arts, bowling, and more. In the evening, the campus and surrounding region provide opportunities to go dancing and attend musical performances, movies and sporting events such as UC Davis and professional basketball, football, baseball and soccer games. Attending the local Sacramento Kings NBA basketball games is a popular activity among students. In addition, students often take short trips to visit historic and scenic sites throughout the state.

“At UC Davis you will find a vibrant and diverse student community with more than 50 active student organizations, five law journals and an academic spirit where intellectual rigor combines with genuine warmth and friendship, as well as true community of purpose.”

Welcome to Davis, the Bicycle Capital!

Davis, both the city and the campus, has earned the name Bicycle Capital of the U.S. because of efforts to provide its thousands of cyclists with a bicycle-friendly environment. Wide streets, well-marked bike lanes, inviting pathways, gentle terrain, mild climate, and an attitude of mutual respect between cyclists and motorists have resulted in a community with the most bikes per capita of any in the nation. In Davis, bicycling is a way of life.
